Worcester Technical High School

Key Features

Recognized nationally as a model for contemporary technical high schools, the building was designed to support the new paradigm of vocational and technical education that integrates academics and technical training
The school building is organized in four career academies—manufacturing, business management, health and human services, and construction. This “school within a school” concept creates a manageable scale for the 400,000 square-foot building
The building incorporates many sustainable design features, including a roof water collection system that supports adjacent vernal pools, athletic fields situated on a former landfill, and high-tech energy management systems
