OUR SERVICES INCLUDE:
LPA|A holds superior design as a core value. We offer the expertise of a nationally-recognized firm with a regional focus, serving the Central Massachusetts communities that we ourselves are a part of. We take an individualized approach to every project and deliver thoughtful designs that stand the test of time.
Planning and Programming
LPA|A has a highly-skilled in-house team for the architectural programming process. This essential process of collecting, organizing and determining the needs and requirements of the building is one where our collaborative approach is particularly beneficial. We become immersed in the project and community to determine the full spectrum of priorities for the project. We work with the various communities of people who will use the building and synthesize the information we gather to arrive at the best possible approach to the project.
Whether for a college campus, school district, town, corporate or nonprofit client, LPA|A excels at helping clients with complex planning issues. Good planning requires a broad understanding of the various opportunities and challenges, needs and priorities in the site, program, demographic and geographic conditions. Developing a comprehensive, big picture plan to move forward is something LPA|A has helped many clients with over our 50 years in business.
Historic Preservation/Adaptive Reuse
LPA|A has received national recognition for our historic preservation work. Transforming a space that is no longer meeting a client’s needs into one that will be optimally functional for years to come, while maintaining and enhancing the character of the original building and even the surrounding neighborhood is a challenge that LPA|A has taken on with great success many times.
We believe that a sustainable approach to architectural design is a fundamental responsibility, and assess each project for its unique sustainable opportunities based on site and program features. Working collaboratively with our LEED accredited professionals, consultant engineers, facilities managers, user groups and interested community members, we conceptualize potential sustainable initiatives, refine them based on their effectiveness and cost benefits, consider grant opportunities, and develop appropriate monitoring systems.
