College of the Holy Cross Seelos Theater

Location

Worcester, Massachusetts

Area

10,000 square feet

Key Features

  • LPA|A created a design to transform part of the historic Kimball Hall on the Holy Cross campus, which had for some time been used primarily as a film venue, into Seelos Theater, a 360-seat multi-purpose assembly space
  • The redesign provided significant upgrades to the space with improved features, support spaces, advanced heating and air conditioning systems, state-of-the-art acoustics, lighting, and audio-visual systems
  • From an underutilized space, Seelos Theater has become one of the college’s most popular spaces for faculty meetings, student orientation, and live performances while continuing to support the college’s popular free film series
