Christina Bazelmans Makes Declaration at Leadership Worcester Graduation
Christina became the third staff member at LPA|A to graduate from Leadership Worcester as of this month. The program operated by the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce selects about 25 participants each year to connect with people in the community, learn from leaders and decision-makers about the challenges facing the region, and inspire them to take a more of a leadership role in moving Worcester forward.
“I am grateful that this opportunity in Leadership Worcester gave me a unique behind the scenes perspective and a much better understanding of the myriad of issues and challenges facing the amazing, resilient people in the city of Worcester,” said Christina.
Each year the program ends with members of the graduating class making declarations about how they intend to use their Leadership Worcester experience to have an impact on their community. Christina’s passion for helping underrepresented groups overcome obstacles to careers in architecture, engineering and construction and diversifying these industries was strengthened by her experience in the Leadership Worcester program.
As part of her declaration, Christina said, “I promise to build on the experiences and the connections Leadership Worcester has given me, and to redouble my efforts within the community to advocate for and encourage more young women and underrepresented groups in Worcester to pursue careers in sustainability, technology, engineering and design.”
