Staff Help Out at United Way Day of Caring
This September LPA|A staff volunteered for the annual Day of Caring organized by the United Way of Central Massachusetts’, spending the day cleaning, organizing and moving furniture for the “In the Hour of Need Family Shelter” in Worcester.
LPA|A was one of dozens of teams that fanned out across the city to take on a range of projects to better the community. There were 33 local organizations that benefited from the volunteer services of more than 900 people at this 29th annual Day of Caring event.
LPA|A Architect Meghan Vincent, who coordinated our group’s participation this year, said of the day, “Giving back to our community is one of LPA|A’s core values. On this day, our team was tasked with some basic chores, which on the surface seems like it would not have that much impact. But when we saw the gratitude on the faces of those we helped, and when we later reflected on what the United Way and all the volunteers across the city were able to accomplish in just one day, it became very meaningful to us all be a part of that interconnected effort.”
