Westborough Library Repair Project Moves Forward
At its annual town meeting earlier this month, Westborough citizens overwhelmingly voted to fund the repair and temporary relocation of the Westborough Public Library. LPA|A has been working with the town in recent years to arrive at a cost-effective plan to replace aging building systems, reconfigure spaces to better meet community needs and address overdue maintenance and code compliance issues.
The library building is a historic 1908 building with a 1980’s-era addition. The project will include a roof replacement, a new HVAC system, restoration of the building’s 1908 windows, reallocation of space for teens and adults, as well as upgrades to the children’s programming space and meeting room.
In order to undertake the construction without disrupting service, library functions will be moved to a temporary location on the first floor of the Community Center on Union Street, recently purchased by the Town of Westborough.
Construction is expected to be complete in the Spring of 2026.
