LPA|A is announcing the promotion of architects Christina Bazelmans and Sean Brennan from Associate Principals to Principals at the firm. Sean joined the firm in 2010 while Christina joined in 2013, and both have had key roles on significant and highly successful projects in recent years.

“Sean and Christina have both demonstrated their value to the firm through their commitment to quality design and exceptional service for clients,” said LPA|A Managing Director Rick Lamoureux. “Their leadership on projects and across a wide range of activities at LPA|A has been a major contributor to our success in recent years.”

Christina is the firm’s Programming and Sustainability Director, having recently led the programming process for the Clinton Middle School project, Jabish Brook Middle School, and the Westborough Public Library Renovation project, among others. She also served as Project Architect on LPA|A’s largest project to date, the new Doherty Memorial High School in Worcester.

Sean is the firm’s Marketing and Business Development Director and served as Project Architect for the Beal Elementary School in Shrewsbury, which opened in 2021 and the WPI Center for Well Being, which opened in 2023. Sean is also currently the Project Architect for the Clinton Middle School Project and was recently recognized as one of the Worcester Business Journal’s “Forty Under 40.”

Both also participated in the Leadership Worcester program, Sean in 2020 and Christina in 2022 and have been involved in many community service activities in and around Worcester. Christina helped spearhead the Doherty Living Lab, which introduced underrepresented communities to opportunities in the architecture, engineering and construction industries, and helped Girls Inc. with pro bono design work for their facilities.

A lifelong Worcester resident, Sean served as chair of the Worcester Arts Council and is currently serving on the board of the Worcester Regional Research Bureau, and as board president on both the state and local chapters of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). He has also done pro bono work for several nonprofit groups and organizations that are addressing our communities pressing issues of food security, housing, and equity, including Pernet Family Health Service, the CASA Project of Worcester County, the City of Worcester, and the St. John’s Food Pantry.

“Christina and Sean each bring specific skills and talents that our firm will need in order to build on our success in the years ahead,” said LPA|A Principal Peter Caruso. “I can’t think of anyone I would rather have by my side as we carry forward the 55-year legacy of the firm and lead it into our next successful chapter.”
