Raymond C. Richer Elementary School

Location

Marlborough, Massachusetts

Area

161,800 square feet

Key Features

  • The City of Marlborough and the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) selected LPA|A to conduct a feasibility study for the Richer Elementary School, which originally opened in 1965.
  • Rapid student population growth and overcrowding in the district led to the Richer Elementary School remaining open even after a replacement school, Goodnow Brothers Elementary, opened in 2020.
  • The study included consideration of new construction or addition/renovation as well as two enrollment options. The district opted for the larger enrollment of 950 students, grade K-5 and has decided on new construction of a 161,800 square foot school on the site of the existing school.
  • The Marlborough Public Schools has more information on the project on their website at https://www.mps-edu.org/o/mps/page/rbp
