Christina Bazelmans Named Programming and Sustainability Director
Associate Principal Christina Bazelmans is now LPA|A’s Programming and Sustainability Director. In her new role, Christina oversees architectural programming and sustainable design initiatives across all projects at the firm.
A registered architect, LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) BD +C Accredited Professional and member of the Association for Learning Environments, Christina has been at LPA|A since 2013. She holds a master’s degree in architecture from Wentworth Institute of Technology.
Christina has led the programming and sustainable design processes on a number of significant recent projects including Worcester’s Doherty Memorial High School now under construction as well as middle school projects for Clinton and Belchertown. Christina is playing a key role in helping these districts navigate new Massachusetts energy codes as well as the green energy policies at the MSBA (Massachusetts State Building Authority).
“LPA|A is locally focused and does work that makes a positive impact to the community,” said Christina. “I love being a part of the programming phase. It is so rewarding to learn about the client’s program, listen to what is not working, discover their needs and work with them to brainstorm possible solutions.”
Christina is also a graduate of Leadership Worcester and has volunteered her time with Girls Inc. of Worcester and the Worcester Public Schools.
