Sherwood Middle School Selected as “Model School”
The Massachusetts School Building Authority recently announced the addition of 12 new schools into the Model School Program, including LPA-designed Sherwood Middle School in Shrewsbury. The Model School Program offers incentives to school districts for adapting and revising an existing design from a recently completed school.
Sherwood Middle School was one of only two middle schools selected in this round of the program. Sherwood opened in 2012 and was designed to accommodate 900 fifth and sixth grade students. Schools selected for the program undergo a thorough review to ensure that they adhere to MSBA guidelines, incorporate sustainable design features, and are adaptable to expansion or contraction, among other considerations.
